As our resident authority on UX principles you will lead our digital UX and design strategy, ensuring that a first-class digital experience is delivered for all our client’s customers.
We’re looking for a strategic leader with evidence of experience in UX strategy, research and design. Someone who knows how to translate qualitative and quantitative user insight to user requirements and design solutions.
Note: we are NOT looking for a designer. We are looking for someone with knowledge and understanding of user-centric design and research methods who can confidently lead a team of UX and UI designers and provide strategic direction to the team and our clients.
Provide strategic guidance to lead our UX team
Advocate best practices and share emerging trends for user-centered design and user research with Status’ clients and team
Work with stakeholders to ensure our UX strategy is aligned with both business and user objectives
Work with the project manager and designers to map out the UX (research) approach and requirements for each project
Collaborate with users, clients, designers, developers, account- and project managers to deliver the highest quality products
Build strategic relationships and implement processes which contribute to the working environment, product quality, product success, and to customer satisfaction
Actively participate and support business development when appropriate, including proposal development, pitches and tenders
Keep abreast of industry trends and actively share your knowledge with the team and (potential) clients through high quality publications, events and social sharing.
As a manager:
Evaluate and QA work by UX/UI Designers
Lead regularly scheduled UX team meetings for planning and knowledge sharing
Mentor UX talent and evaluate/recruit new talents as needed
Guarantee active collaboration between designers, developers and strategists
As a practicing UX professional:
Conduct and plan UX-related research, including collaborative design workshops, interviews, online surveys, heuristic reviews, competitor/market audits, content analysis, analytics reviews, card sorting and usability testing.
Create research reports, personas and customer / user journey maps
Provide consultation to project teams and clients on usability and accessibility best practice
Present user focused insight and recommendations in one-on-one and group situations to clients, agency team and partners
Understand the role that content plays in the UX process and provide support / guidance where necessary
Skills and Experience
An in-depth understanding of lean / agile delivery processes
Ability to fulfill, facilitate and lead UX requirements on any given project
Solid understanding of UX design and research principles
Strong attention to detail and analytical approach to problem solving
Excellent interpersonal, written, persuasive and presentation skills
Experience conducting stakeholder workshops, interviews and research sessions
Knowledge of accessibility and usability standards, different technologies, and UX/CX terminology
Self-motivated with the drive to achieve successful outcomes
Team player able to work effectively with colleagues and clients
