The role

Our front-end developers work on a wide variety of web and mobile app projects. As a junior front-end developer at Status, you will work alongside other members of our development teams to build up front end templates, HTML, CSS/SASS, JavaScript and jQuery for websites and mobile applications that work across all major browsers and devices. The front-end development role is focused on development over design, but the developer should have a good eye for design and be able to translate designs to code accurately.

Primary responsibilities

  • Create website front-ends and web services using HTML, JavaScript and CSS, and open-source libraries such as jQuery
  • Work with the team to update and maintain content on existing websites
  • Participate in development process from specification and design through build to testing, release and maintenance.
  • Participate in an agile team, estimating and planning work according to agile principles

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Either one year’s educational experience in web development (or similar subject), or demonstrable front-end development skills
  • Ability to show examples of work you have developed, and explain how you have developed them
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery
  • Understanding of responsive design principles
  • An ability to work on projects as part of a team and independently
  • Clear communication skills
