We welcome two new members to the Status Team

We're excited to announce that we've added two key roles to our senior team as we take steps to achieve significant growth over the next 3 years.  These appointments signal a really exciting new chapter in our plans, as we look to grow by strengthening and expanding our integrated strategic digital marketing offer.

James Oliver and Fiona Stuart

The two new additions to the team are James Oliver, who joins us as Director of User Experience, and Fiona Stuart, who has taken up the role of Director of Digital Marketing.

Status was formed in 2011, at the height of the recession. We now serve a diverse range of clients from a variety of sectors including retail, leisure, education and healthcare. After laying solid foundations over the last four years we're now more than ready to accelerate our growth, and as such have sought to grow the senior team.

Our Managing Director, Nick Salloway, commented on these plans

“We’re proud that we’ve been able to grow our business in a tough economic environment, and that we’ve been debt free and profitable from the outset. Our talented and dedicated team has played an integral role in these achievements, as has our ability to compete successfully for new business against some big name agencies, from London and overseas.

Over the last four years we have built a portfolio of both UK and international valued clients. One example of the latter is Hong Kong based Nord Anglia Education, a premium schools organisation with 35 schools located in 14 countries across China, Europe, the Middle East, North America and Southeast Asia.  We secured a contract worth over £350k with them that involved the delivery of a complete web presence re-build for each of their schools. We also supported them with customer and stakeholder research that was required in order to create new content strategies for the new sites, and new content governance frameworks. Post-delivery of that contract, we continue to provide Nord Anglia with ongoing development support, ensuring optimal performance for their websites.

As part of our continued growth plans we’re now looking to build on our initial success by investing significantly in extending our digital marketing service offer.

I’m delighted to have secured the talents of James and Fiona and have no doubt that their expertise will help our customers increase their return on investment in digital marketing.  Our philosophy has always been to focus on what matters to our clients’ customers to create effective digital marketing strategies that provide measurable results. Competition for traffic means simply having a website is no longer enough – businesses require a customer focused approach based on research, measurement and continuous refinement. Status is investing heavily in the resources, skills and infrastructure necessary to deliver these services”.

The introduction of James to the team demonstrates our strong desire to put customer experience at the heart of every project.  James brings with him a multi-disciplined user experience design background across a wide range of sectors, his varied background includes music industry work with Sanctuary/EMI, extensive web design work on Tesco Direct with Tesco.com and user interface design projects for travel brand Lastminute.com.  He has also undertaken a number of user experience consultancy roles with large organisations such as the BBC, Marks & Spencer and Debenhams, developing research and interview techniques to build evidence to support key design decisions.

James said “I’ve joined Status at a pivotal time as they gear up for significant growth.  As a business they already put a strong focus on customer experience and I’m looking forward to taking that to a higher level.  By introducing more in-depth research techniques we’ll be able to provide clients with hugely valuable insight on how to offer their customers the best possible online experience”.

The appointment of Fiona will allow us to ramp up our digital marketing capabilities with her taking a lead in the development of a range of strategic marketing services for clients.  With over ten years marketing experience working for TSG, one of the UK’s leading IT service companies, Fiona has developed extensive marketing expertise with a strong focus on digital channels.  Her insight from a client perspective will bring real value as we begin to expand its new digital marketing service offer.

Fiona said “ The growth plans of the agency were a key reason in attracting me to the role with Status.  They have built a strong international customer base through word of mouth and recommendation with limited marketing activity.  I’m really excited to see what we can achieve from a new business perspective as we begin to build the Status brand.  I’m also looking forward to start shaping our client digital marketing services offering, coming from the client side I know only too well the importance of achieving ROI on digital activity and I believe that we can put together some powerful services to help our customers get maximum return from their digital activities”.
